FUNAS VALLEY
Full speed ahead or at rest
The playground is one of the real gems of the Swedish mountains. The opportunities to discover something new are virtually inexhaustible. If you've got a spring in your step and a thirst for adventure, just head out on one of the many hiking and cycling trails that are just around the corner. If you prefer to experience nature and culture in a quieter way, you are also free to do so.
Ice fishing becomes swimming, skiing becomes hiking. And the scooter is exchanged for a bicycle. The Funäsfjällen mountains change shape several times during the year and everything has its charm. You can't get enough of the experience, whatever the season.
What no city in the world can offer, you'll find in the mountains with all their vast trails and paths. A visit to musk oxen and the local brewery one day. A ride on Icelandic horses the next. And in between, a dip in Funäsdalssjön or perhaps in a quiet bend of Ljusnan. The river Ljusnan is something that is best experienced from a canoe.
Fishing and hunting are other things you can do when it's in season. Or hone your swing on Sweden's oldest mountain golf course Ljusnedal with its 18 holes in a magnificent setting, or Ramundsberget's 9-hole course.
Activities all year round
Tranquillity and activity can be combined particularly well in Funäsfjällen. Hiking, cycling, canoeing, horse riding and culture are just some of the things you can spice up your stay in Funäsfjällen with.
8 seasons
The 8 Sami seasons each have their own charm. When the snow is gone, it's time to discover Funäsfjällen's richness of detail and generous conditions for everyday adventures.
Close to nature and village
Parkstigen is remote yet close to Funäsdalen village with its range of shops, restaurants and service centres. There is everything you need during your stay.
